Hike Through the Marble Villages of Tinos: Pyrgos – Panormos – Pyrgos Loop
Activity Description
Discover one of the most unique hiking trails in Tinos, a loop that takes you through the legendary marble village of Pyrgos, the charming fishing port of Panormos, and back through scenic coastal and inland paths. Ideal for lovers of culture, art, traditional architecture, and nature, this hike is a deep dive into the soul of Tinos Island.
We start with a guided walking tour in Pyrgos, the marble capital of Tinos, and the birthplace of the iconic sculptor Giannoulis Chalepas. In Pyrgos, everything is made of marble and stone—from houses and fountains to church bell towers and public squares. You’ll explore the narrow alleys and visit the Tinos Marble Museum, a cultural landmark showcasing the island’s rich sculpting tradition and craftsmanship.
From Pyrgos, we begin a scenic descent toward Panormos Bay, a seaside village known for its fishing heritage, local tavernas, and traditional Cycladic charm. Enjoy free time to grab a coffee or simply relax by the sea.
The route then leads us to Rohari Beach, a peaceful, unspoiled bay, before starting our ascent back to Pyrgos through rural trails surrounded by the island’s wild beauty and marble landscapes.
